The Libation Station at Fermentation Fest is the go-to place to taste what alcoholic fermentors around the southeast have been brewing up. From mead to wine, to beer, you’ll enjoy imbibing in the alcoholic section at the Atlanta Fermentation Fest.

A hands on experience where we will use the brine of local vegetables to create beautiful art on donated tote bags from the Rounds. Bring your own scraps or old t-shirts to upcycle them with food scraps. Nothing is getting wasted here! Tickets for the tie dye station

The Future is Biodegradable with Abi Lambert

Bacterial cellulose has been in the periphery of scientific research for decades but the popularity of kombucha in the last decade coincides with artists, designers, and scientists experimenting with it as a material and the beginning of businesses developing around cellulose materials. The materials cellulose are most commonly designed to replace are leather, paper, and plastic. In particular, bacterial cellulose has great potential in replacing shrink wrapping, plastic bags, and seran wrap. It's thin, it's flexible, and most importantly it degrades quickly over time unlike plastic which takes centuries and sometimes millenia to degrade.

Georgia Gwinnett College

Do you want to learn more about the science behind your favorite fermented products? Georgia Gwinnett College (Lawrenceville, Georgia) recently launched a Bachelor of Chemistry with a Fermentation Science Concentration as well as a Fermentation Science Certification. These fermentation specific courses will teach students the biology and chemistry behind all kinds of fermentation.  Chemistry faculty members, Dr. Misael Romero-Reyes and Mrs. Veronica Sublett Breeden, will talk about this new program at Georgia Gwinnett College. Grayson Watts will talk about his experience as a student in the Safety and Quality of Fermentation course that is ongoing this semester.
